The UKATA Category “A” Asbestos Awareness eLearning course is mandatory for anyone liable to encounter or disturb Asbestos Containing Materials. Asbestos is a mineral that was used in buildings for insulation and fireproofing. It is made up of long thin fibers which can cause serious health problems if inhaled. All types of Asbestos were banned by law in 1999 however asbestos still exists in some of these older buildings.
