According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Display Screen Equipment (DSE) are devices or equipment that have an alphanumeric or graphic display screen and includes display screens, laptops, touch screens and other similar devices.
DSE workstations can be associated with neck, shoulder, back or arm pain, as well as with fatigue and eyestrain. This Online DSE Training course instructs employees in the correct setup and safe use of their computer workstation, desk and chair.
Please note: RoSPA recommends additional face to face training for those who will be performing risk assessments for other members of your organisation.
Description
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 aim to protect the health of people who work with DSE. The Regulations were introduced because DSE has become one of the most common kinds of work equipment.
Health risks associated with DSE include fatigue, eye strain, upper limb problems and backache. This can be due to over or improper use of DSE or poorly designed workstations.
Effective ergonomics has been proven to reduce the potential for accidents, injury and ill health and to improve performance and productivity. Small changes and interventions can have important results.
This DSE Online Training course introduces users to a comfortable sitting posture and correct keyboard and mouse techniques. In addition, the importance of a personally organised workstation is explained. Regular movement and stretching can be beneficial to alleviate postural strain. The course also describes the importance of eyestrain prevention and a company eyesight policy. The correct use of laptops and mobile phones is essential to prevent personal injury.

Certificate did not show that you had completed DSE e-learning. Graphics were very good, easy to use, covered all areas under a self DSE assessment.

Exercise section was excellent. However, disappointed that a learner could opt out of this section.

For our smaller regional offices this way of doing DSE Assessments has proven to be quick, easy and effective. It really is as simple as add to the cart, make payment and send the log in details to the employee. I would definitely recommend this course.
