Description
The DSE eLearning course aims to reduce the health risks associated with working with a computer workstation. It does this by giving individuals the information they need to manage their environment and their work. The course explains how to set-up your chair, desk, desk equipment and screen. It addresses how to achieve comfortable postures while you work and the importance of avoiding sitting or standing for too long.

Optional material covers carrying and using mobile devices, including laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Standing for work, working in vehicles, using multiple screens and touchscreens are also provided as optional sections. There is a skippable lesson suitable for expectant and new mothers, as well as those who manage women of child-bearing age.
The final lesson provides some simple stretching exercises to reduce tension and stress. These can be downloaded as a PDF for reference after the course is finished.
An online risk assessment is taken after completing the course. The risk assessment assists with identifying issues with a computer workstation, provides advice on how to resolve these issues or to raise the issues further so that appropriate action can be taken.
