Description
Grievances are concerns, problems or complaints that employees may have about their work, working conditions or relationships with colleagues. Grievances are best dealt with informally however, for unresolved grievances, organisations should have formal procedures in place to ensure issues are dealt with fairly and consistently.
This Grievance policy online course outlines the grievance procedure including how to raise a grievance and the different routes available to help solve a grievance. In addition, the stages involved in the grievance procedure are explained.
In the first instance, employees should raise a grievance informally with their immediate supervisor. A Formal procedure is initiated if the matter is not resolved at the first level. The specific requirements of a formal procedure are detailed in this course. Finally, employees have the right to appeal if they feel there has been an unsatisfactory outcome. A senior manager will then hold a meeting in a reasonable timeframe.
