The course looks at what constitutes a balanced diet, how much of each food group you should eat and what foods you should avoid. Sometimes foods we might think are healthy can be full of extra sugar or salt. The course outlines the recommended limits for how much sugar and salt you should consume in a day, and shows you how to recognise foods that might contain excess amounts. Hydration is an equally important element of a healthy diet, so the course includes information on how much liquid you should drink each day, what types of liquids count towards the daily recommendation, and how dehydration can negatively affect your body.
